I've cc-ed the list since that might be a problem that others encounter, too.

Andre Pang is the main author of the Firefox plugin and he will be in a better position to help.

However, I believe that Firefox didn't find a video framework to do the video playback for you.
I assume you're running Linux? Then there might be some software packages that you are missing.
The Firefox plugin is based on vlc (video lan client), so you will need to install that.

Thank you for that file, I downloaded it and it seemed to work fine, except there was no video playback. 
I also authored my own annodex files and encountered the same problem. 
In firefox the keyframes, clip description and hyperlink all appear however there is no video playback. 
When I look at the output from firefox it seems to give an error like 'no suitable access module for ....'
Any ideas?
