Dear all,
some of you might have heard it: several of us are planning to create an Annodex Foundation around the open standards and the open source code associated with Annodex. It will be an independent entity of CSIRO. This will make it clearer what parts of the technology CSIRO is pursuing commercially and what parts are actually free.
The foundation will be incorporated as an Australian Foundation. Thus it will have elections to a representative committee, it will have members, and it will have a constitution.
There is a web site up with all the ideas, so go check out http://www.annodex.org/.
Click in particular on the "About" page (left side menu) to learn more about the constitution plans and on the "constitution" links on either the Main Page (first para) or the "About" page (under "Constitution").
Currently we are discussing the constitution and I would like to take this discussion into this forum. Elections will come later, but feel free to nominate yourself or other people for the committee. Once we have a constitution and a committee (i.e. min 5 people), we can register the foundation.
What sorts of things would you care about for an Annodex Foundation? Let's make sure we have it all covered in the constitution.
Regards,
Silvia.
