[annodex-users] Python annodex - writing a clip problem

Hi,
I am getting my head around python-annodex to improve a marking up
utility I'm writing for annodex files (I'm building an archive of field
and other recordings). All of the reading examples work fine - but when
I try and run write_clip_file.py with a cmml file as input, and anx file
as output, it segfaults. I'm using the version in the package for
Ubuntu Dapper - 0.7.3. I can get the C version that comes with
libannodex to run to completion, although the output file has a length
of zero given the same inputs.
Have tried to access http://svn.annodex.net to have a look for any more
recent source, but can't get access for some reason.
I have also tried stepping through the code in the python interpreter,
with the same results.
95% chance I'm doing something stupid, so any help greatly appreciated.
Structure of my cmml files perhaps? They work OK with anxenc so I'm a
bit stumped.
