Just a comment on the process you are building into your app.
Given the sound is in real time, it might be better/or really vital to
the success of your app to mark the speakers while recording. In this
way the material is accessible much more quickly.
I collected 12hours of video and found that it is quite time consuming
to go back to make and classify the clips. Also, 10+ years back I was a
sales person for D-CART which was the Australian Broadcasting
Corporation's audio editing/database system.

I should add that the theora video on this page - worked a dream in
Ubuntu/Breezy Badger on my laptop.
