Hi Silvia,
I've been in contact with Donna Benjamin over the past couple of months
about doing some volunteer work for LCA 2008. I'm a tech journalist and
editor with a keen interest in open source tech and the open source
community. I will be covering the conference for my day job as a
reporter, but also doing some volunteer work for it on my own time.
I offered to do a session on media training for LCA and Donna said that
the sessions may all be booked up already, but that you might have a
spot in the multimedia miniconf. So here are the details of what I
offered to do, cut and pasted from my email to Donna:

"It is probably too late as the sessions for the miniconfs and stuff
have been finalised I think, but I wanted to offer to do a session on
"Interacting with the Media". I have run a similar session at a
conference for computer resellers before (small business guys mostly)
and got really good feedback. I basically explained how the media works,
how to write a press release and do other things to get your
idea/business into the media, and how to handle it when things go wrong.
This doesn't need to be an LCA or miniconf session either - I'm more
than happy to share any knowledge I have with conference organisers etc
as well."

Please let me know if you have a slot free and think this would be a
useful addition to the conference. :)

Cheers!
